How do you solve Sudoku?

The rules are simple: fill the grid with digits from 1 to 9 so that none repeats in the same row, column or 3 × 3 box. There is no arithmetic involved — you reach the solution through logical deduction and by eliminating digits that cannot fit a cell. Start with the rows, columns and boxes that have the fewest missing digits — they are the quickest places to find a certain entry. Then look for cells that can accept only one digit, and scan the grid again after every entry because a single number often opens up the next moves.

While playing, you can undo your last move, request a hint or check how many cells remain. The grid highlights conflicts, and the timer shows how quickly you complete the puzzle.

Once you finish, you can start another game straight away. If you prefer solving Sudoku away from the screen, print the grid and return to it whenever you like.
